How to assess

A professional judgement can be made, based on the teacher's knowledge of the activity, the child and the circumstances (eg. amount of support given, or whether the work was completed independently).

Using teacher observations, interactions, dialogue with pupils, outcomes can be referenced against the level descriptors and APP Assessment Foci (AFs). It is important to remember that the assessment should be built into the teaching and can be carried out during any activity including ICT. It does not need to be carried out as a discrete assessment activity.
