Extension: Level awarded - 2 ICT objective: The information around us (1c) to be able to alter font size and colour and to use a variety of functions such as highlight Context: Using Notebook software, children preparing front cover for non-fiction book; whole class modelling on how to use features in notebook; children had to access template via pupil templates and save work in folder Comments: both these children were able to work independently for the whole task. They accessed templates and, with minimal, support saved their work. They demonstrated the ability to use backspace key to delete errors and independently decided the colour, font and position of their text and pictures. When questioned, they could justify why they had made choices regarding text position in relation to their pictures. They worked collaboratively to access images in another folder on the server and knew how to copy and paste the image into their notebook page using the mouse. They subsequently supported other children who also wanted to use those images.
