Book Trailer

Created: Feb 2010

Subjects: English, communication and languages, ICT across all areas of learning,

Year: 6 Level: 5

Teacher Comments:
The children were given the task of creating a trailer for a book of their choice. They were allowed to choose the equipment to create the trailer, including microphones, digital cameras, PSP, and laptops. This group chose a Powerpoint presentation, and incorporated sound and images. They also thought carefully about the use of timing. Their hard work paid off and they created an excellent book trailer, highlighting their Level 5 ICT skills. For example, they used ICT to structure, refine and present information in different forms and styles for specific purposes and audiences and they used appropriate evaluation criteria to critically evaluate the fitness for purpose of their work as it progressed.

Student Comments:
We enjoyed doing this project because we got to work together and discover new features of Powerpoint. It was fun recording our voices and putting all our ideas together. It was great to make a book trailer of our very own.
